V12 Dynamic Upgrades

As the factory constantly evolved the dynamics of the V12 vehicles over time, Bamford Rose has developed an upgrade path to enable owners of earlier models to take advantage of these evolutions.

This upgrade path is especially pertinent as the V12 cars age. Earlier Multimatic dampers have proven susceptible to leakage and valving issues. This leaves the DB9 owner with options to improve the car, either by fitment of later Bilstein dampers or by fitting the Bamford Rose Adaptive Damper upgrade for the ultimate in handling dynamics.

For the more focused drivers of earlier V12’s we are pleased to offer an upgrade to our bespoke version of the 2013 MY underbody panels (sheer plates). These front trays are made of a thicker gauge and are stronger than DBS / Sport-Pack front sheer plates. When combined with new bespoke rear trays, the cars torsional rigidity is significantly improved with the advantages of better handling, fewer squeaks etc.

For Coupe:

  • This upgrade is suitable for Generation I DB9, DBS and Virage and the stiffer front and rear under surface trays are available fitted for £1750 (excluding VAT).

For Volante:

  • This upgrade is particularly recommended for Volante owners looking to minimise scuttle shake and improve handling. However, the nature of upgrade depends on the Volante model. Early Volantes did not even have a rear anti-roll bar and the fixings to the roll bar are not present either. So to upgrade to the optimal specification the rear anti-roll bar (we utilise the larger DBS anti-roll bar in all upgrades) bushings and fixings also need to be installed. £POA: Please contact us for details of the appropriate upgrades for your Volante.

For the more spirited driver, we offer a brake upgrade for earlier V12 models. Upgrading from the factory fitment 355mm front discs to the later style Brembo 380mm, bell-mounted, floating discs fitted to the Vantage S. Additionally, the OEM four-piston calipers are upgraded to a Brembo six-piston calipers each milled from a solid billet. As a final, personal, touch the calipers can be painted in your choice of colour.

This upgrade vastly improves braking feel, modulation and performance for a slight increase in unsprung weight over the original factory fitment.

This upgrade is available for £5,750 (excluding VAT).

For the ultimate in dynamic upgrades, Bamford Rose is proud to offer our adaptive damping package. We use the B16 Bilstein adaptive dampers, as fitted into the final VH era Aston Martins, and we specify bespoke springs for each model (the OEM springs are discarded as part of this uncompromising upgrade). This pinnacle upgrade offers a transformational difference in the V12’s handling and ride.

Three initial model-specific dynamic damper settings – comfort, sport and track are calibrated by Bamford Rose. The settings can be selected by a discreet button in the vehicle or via a smartphone application. With the dampers in adaptive mode, the car will stiffen up the corners needed then revert to comfort in milliseconds! Comfort mode is perfect for a Motorway cruise, sport mode for a spirited back road blast and track for days at the circuit.

Alternatively, for the most demanding owner, all of the suspension settings are completely programmable via smartphone to create the handling characteristics you desire.

This upgrade is suitable for all Generation I V12’s and is available for £5750 (excluding VAT).
